Two new life drawing courses, both structured and unstructured, begin in September and aim to cater to the every need of the profeesional artist to the absolute beginner.
The Structured Classes
This course, taught by Daniel Scott, consists of 10 sessions, once per week. It is designed for total beginners, those who feel they might have forgotten everything they may have once known or students who just wish to take advantage of the fantastic facilities on offer.
How is it structured?
This new course now consists of 10 sessions* and aims to give a comprehensive introduction, or refresher, to all elements of life drawing and process. The following examples represent an average course for the average student, but nothing is fixed in stone, and everything is open to adaptation, (especially for past students who may wish to focus on something specific.)
• The first introduces you to the fundamentals of life drawing, such as Proportion, Structure and Composition and allows the tutor/s to tailor their tuition specifically to the students needs.
• The second session looks at Chiaroscuro (light and shade) and way it creates and erodes the human form.
• The third session introduces Negative space, and the importance of drawing everything but the model.
• The fourth session studies Portraiture and the basic rules.
• The fifth session looks at Movement and drawing from life under limited time conditions.
• The sixth session begins to introduce drawing with paint, palette knives and other ways of 'drawing'.
.•The seventh session approaches contour drawing and alternative ways of seeing the mass.• The eigth session looks at movement and drawing a non-static subject
• The ninth session starts by working outside and drawing people in the street.
• The Tenth session draws together all this new information in one formal study that will last the entire session with considerable 1 2 1 tuition.
Unstructured Classes
These sessions are predominantly taught by Clarrisa and Susana, and are aimed more at artists who just wish to draw, paint or sculpt without any tuition or guidance. Usually the sessions are themed and are open to anyone with prior consultation.
They take place in Mina's sister studio 'Caminal', Poble Nou.
